A six hour bus ride to chitwan
Sujan and I started our day off by taking a six hour bus ride at 730am. Our destination was Chitwan, Nepal. Chitwan is well-known for its safari adventures and elephant riding expeditions.
Once we got to our hotel, the Green Park, we hopped in a jeep and rode to the elephant sanctuary.
I was told we would see Rhinos, Bengal Tigers and Crocodiles while riding around in Chitwan National Forest. Unfortunately, we only saw a crocodile. However, the croc was pretty close to the elephant's feet. A few steps to the left and the elephant was right next to this beast.
Once we passed the croc, we headed into the forest. And, what a beautiful forest it was. The climb from the river bank was tough for the elephant. It had just rained the previous day, so the bank of the river was slippery. We got to the top and saw this.
We reached the forest with its lush green trees. There was a small swamp we had to pass through.
Our group got to see to see a free wild animals. No tigers or rhinos, though :(.
Overall, the trip was a success. I had always wanted to ride an elephant in another country. I accomplished that goal.
A video of the ride will be up soon. The wifi in Nepal is mediocre at best. But, I can't always have my way!
