Hong Kong Guide
Hong Kong Destination Guide |
Until 1997, Hong Kong was a colony of Great Britain. Today, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) is a part of China, although it comes with partial clemency from China.
Hong Kong, as agreed between China and Britain, would maintain its own currency (Hong Kong dollar), judicial system, and congressional system for five decades. Hong Kong is known for its skyline, beautiful wooden boats gliding through the natural natural Victoria Harbor and significant financial districts. It has an area of 685 square kilometers (425 square miles), but the city itself is much smaller. It shares its northern borderline with Shenzhen, China and smaller villages. Home to around 8 million Hongkongers and a wide range of people from all over the world, Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated regions in the world due to the small land mass. More than 1 million expats call Hong Kong home. Hong Kong is quite diverse. Over 100 countries are represented. Hong Kong ranks #2 on the list of most expensive cities for expats to live in according to the South China Morning Post. |
